11 km from Taragarh is the unspoilt town of Palampur which is surrounded by green tea estates with forests of pine and Deodhar on the higher slopes. Mcleodgunj (65km / 1 hours) is the residence of the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Buddhist settlement.
How To Get There :
One can fly into Gaggal airport in Kangra (1 hour) or into Kullu which is a 4 hour drive from here. The nearest important railhead is Pathankot (125 km / 3 hours) which is well-connected with the rest of the country.

Other important distances from here are Shimla (255 km / 7 hours), Dharamshala (45 km / 1 hour), Manali (190 km / 5 hours).
