Neeleshwar Hermitage
North Kerala
While visitors throng to South Kerala, Northern Kerala, traditionally known as Malabar, is an undiscovered jewel with its empty beaches fringed by coconut plantations, un-crowded inland waterways and lush hillside spice gardens set against the immensity of the ocean. In this beautiful region, Neeleshwar Hermitage overlooks a gloriously unspoiled beach of sand, stretching as far in as the eye can see.

The resort is set in 12 naturally landscaped acres, the sea-facing or garden-facing cottages modelled on palm-thatched fisherman huts. The restaurant serves a varied cuisine, incorporating Indian, Middle-Eastern and European flavours, while another beachside restaurant serves fresh fish caught by the local long boats that go out each morning. The Ayurvedic Spa here has five spacious treatment rooms arranged around a central courtyard garden.
Activities and Excursions :
Behind the Hermitage lies a network of secluded backwaters that feed the local paddy fields and eventually open out into the sea. Attractive and spacious houseboats provide the perfect setting for cool, tranquil and relaxing cruises along these backwaters.

A large number of resident and migratory birds can be seen at, and in the vicinity of, the Hermitage. The beach at the Hermitage is part of a 12-kilometre stretch on which a rare and beautiful species of turtle is battling for survival.
How To Get There :
Neeleshwar Hermitage is only two hours from Mangalore airport which in turn is directly linked with the rest of the country by air, road and train. Other important airport which can be used to access Neeleshwar is Calicut (160 km / 3 hours).

A visit to Neeleshwar may be combined with rest of Kerala or the neighbouring parts of Karnataka, breathtaking Coorg region of Karnataka is only 130 km (3 hours) away from Neeleshwar.
