Judge’s Court
Pragpur, Himachal Pradesh

The splendid Manor is designed in the Indo-European tradition and stands in a 12-acre orchard consisting of fruit and exotic trees like camphor, clove and cardamom. Activities and Excursions :
Founded about 3 centuries ago Pragpur has held onto the essence of an earlier era - unchanged shops, cobbled streets, ornamental village tank, mud plastered and slate roofed houses. Therefore it is no wonder that the core area of Pragpur is notified as a Heritage Village along with the nearby village of Garli. A walk through its lanes takes you back to an era long forgotten.

The picturesque Kangra valley has several spots that offer fishing options. The Maharana Pratap Sagar reservoir in the vicinity offers activities such as swimming, water-skiing, surfing, kayaking, rowing, canoeing and sailing. The countryside is ideal for treks and walks.

Pragpur is also a good take-off point for several places of religious significance. The holy Sikh shrines of Anandpur Sahib and Kirtapur Sahib are three hour’s drive and the Hindu shrines of Chintpurni, Brijeshwari, Jwalamukhi and Kangra, within an hour’s drive.

Comfortable day excursions are also possible to Dharamshala (60 km / 1 ½ hour), McLeodganj, the residence of the Dalai Lama (68 km / 2 hours), Palampur (95 km / 2 ½ hours). Haripur-Guler (27 km / 45 minutes) is the cradle of the Kangra School of Paintings and is closeby. The Kangra Fort (40 km / 1 hour) is also within easy driving distance.
