Glenburn Estate
Near Darjeeling
Glenburn is a 1600-acre tea plantation retreat that lies on a hillock above the banks of the River Rungeet, overlooked by the mighty Kanchenjunga mountain range. Started by a Scottish tea company in 1859, Glenburn has now passed into the hands of one of Indias pioneering tea planting families The Prakashes, who carry almost a century of tea knowledge in their inheritance.

There are two charming bungalows, the colonial Burra Bungalow and the recently added Water Lily Bungalow, each comprising four suites and common areas, gardens, verandahs and terraces. Additionally, there is a small lodge by the river that offers accommodation for two families.

The menus comprise a range of cuisine - from interesting local fare and traditional Indian dishes, to exotic South-East Asian delicacies, and a variety of European dishes making full use of the fresh herbs, salad leaves, vegetables and fruits grown within the estate.
