Diphlu River Lodge
Kaziranga National Park, Assam
Diphlu River Lodge is located near Kaziranga National Park, a World Heritage Site. The location of the lodge is exceptional, only the boundary river separates its extensive grounds from the National Park itself, and the jungle views from the lodge are extraordinary.

There are 12 cottages raised on stilts above the ground. All cottages have been beautifully designed to make full use of local materials and artefacts and blend in with the stunning natural surroundings.

High above the river is Machan which has air-conditioned sitting and dining areas opening onto a large verandah with high thatch ceiling and bamboo floor. It also houses a library where one can relax by the fireplace on chilly winter evenings. Along the river bank is a jetty to embark on river trips in dugout canoes, from which one can look out for otters, buffalo, deer or rhino grazing on the far bank.
Activities and Excursions :
The Kaziranga National Park covers about 430 sq km, bordered on the north by the Brahmaputra River and on the south by the Karbi Anglong hills. The largest number of one-horned rhinoceros in the world roams its swamps. A wide variety of other mammals, including tiger, are also found here and the open vistas make the wildlife sighting relatively easy. Daily jeep and elephant safaris to the park are available with the services of trained naturalists.

The lodge also offers village visits and walks through tea gardens.
How To Get There :
Diphlu River Lodge is approximately 5 hours (220 km) drive from Guwahati and 2 hours drive from Jorhat (100 km). A visit to Kaziranga can be combined with other attractions of North-East India.
