Cardamom House
Near Dindigul, Tamil Nadu
Owned and managed by a retired British Physician, Cardamom House enjoys a stunning location on the edge of the monsoon dependent Kamarajar Lake which nestles in the foothills of the Western Ghats. It is an ideal place to experience true unspoiled rural life. Birdlife is abundant and one can even get the occasional glimpse of a leopard as they move silently through the undergrowth.

There are 6 double rooms and a suite, all of which enjoy superb views of both the lake and the Western Ghats. The rooms are cooled by ceiling fans and are simply but pleasingly furnished. Early morning tea or coffee is served in the verandah outside the room whilst lunch is in ‘Four Winds’ – an area cooled by natural breezes. In the evening one can watch the sun sink below the Western Ghats while enjoying sundowners on the rooftop terrace. A wide variety of meals using recipes from around the world are created and only fresh produce from the local village market or its own farm is used.
