Activities and Excursions
City Palace -
The city palace, 3 km from here, is an 18th century building with elaborate ornamented stucco work and frescoes. Within the complex is the famous Madan Mohanji temple which is a fascinating sight during the morning and evening ceremonies.
Kaila Devi National park -
Kaila Devi National Park is named after the famous Kaila Devi Temple and is situated 25 Km from Karauli city. The park is also a part of the project tiger and is a buffer zone to Ranthambore National park. The typical feature of the sanctuary are numerous Khos or deep gorges breaking the ground.

Among mammals Chinkara, wild bore, jackal can be seen very commonly in morning and late afternoon. Leopard, Sloth bear, Hyena, wolf and sambhar sightings can be seen and of course tiger.
Fairs and Festivals -
In Karauli, one animal fair and two religious fairs are held. The religious fairs are held in March-April and Sept-Oct at the temple of Kaila Devi Ji about 20 km from Bhanwar Vilas Palace. The Animal fair is held at Karauli in the month of February every year for a week which coincides with the festival of Shivratri. This fair is one of the oldest animal fairs of Rajasthan where every year thousands of animals of all kinds are brought for sale/purchase. Here one can see the trading of animals, the animal owners camping and shops selling colourful and attractive items.

The nearest rail stations are Gangapur City 30 Km and Hindaun 29 Km which are well connected to the rest of the country.
